need help with pointers

    can anyone plz tell me if p* and *p are the same things in pointers.
    if not what does p* mean in pointers. help needed urgently.:(

    There are some good posts on stack overflow when you google "does it matter where i put the asterisk when declaring a pointer?". I can't post links or I would.
