Normally, i wouldn't even post in regards to this matter because i know MS
dont email people for patches, thats what Windows Update is for, but this
email i received is quite convincing, so i thought i must share the info.

This email, is in html format i believe, just showing up like a normal
email, with links to the MS website, but as many of you experts have wisely
advised previously, Microsoft never email patches etc.

I've looked thru the newsgroup, and found out that one particular person has
had problems. I've put a copy of the email in just to show people. I don't know who to
contact, os if anyone else has this, and they know what the necessary steps
    are pls report it...

Brilliant virus scam, by the look of it. Of course, I spotted and deleted
    it. :)

By the way, your AVG virus signature is out of date :)

Could you please include some of the message you are responding to,

(Tools> Options> Send tab, tick the "Include message in Reply" box.)

It makes it difficult to follow a thread when you write a reply and
have no clue on what the question or discussion was about.

    Thank You Very Much :)

MS does not supply security updates, patches or any kind of executable
whatsoever by email. Anything like this is a virus, and I can definitely
confirm this as I have also been spammmed by hundereds of these bogus
messages, which have been flagged as viruses by my Norton AV S/W.

They also included spurious mail error messages from various phony server

    Delete them all ...

Sometimes it's not necessary to quote.

Just for the nit pickers of the newsgroup, this is also part of the reason
why I don't post. We have intelligent gents/ladies that send replies to
people who are trying to help, but then we have the complete moron that
posts, I.e. please include a quote, why if you read the subject header you
would know, or do you not read
? and for "what type of language is that? "I" "thru" "pls" ?"

Sorry Mr O'grady, thanks for saying that sometimes its not needed to quote,
I should have; I admit, but then to slate someone who is only trying to
help.....but you missed your apostrophe from your name, what type of English
is this? Oh maybe you don't own technology such as a mobile phone, or maybe
if your American, I should state a cell phone, where by us people up to date
with the latest tecchnology is more well educated than that of someone who
sits and replies crap or shite to people who genuinely want to help. This
type of language for the likes of you is short hand you would use for a text
message. Others know it as a txt msg or sms....lets look at the facts its
prats like some people who replied to my post picking up on things that
shouldn't be there, are the people who stop or exploit people's good nature
    for trying to help.

And if you must know I am English, I'm well educated, and I can spell, and
that's without spell check...and my AVG is up to date as AVG is stating, and
that's AVG 6.0...sorry guys, give a guy a break for trying to help....your
just a bunch of hormonal children out of sync if your picking up things that
people have posted trying to help..

No wonder this world is so messed up...........
