We have one production location and a separate Disaster Recovery Site (DRS) today that are linked by a point-to-point encrypted T-1. We are preparing to add another location (our first branch). The branch needs to access the production systems at our Data Center but if that site is inaccessible, it will need to be diverted to the DRS. I understand very little of MPLS but I am told this is the way to go to accomplish what we need to do.

    Questions:

Is MPLS a better solution then Frame-Relay?

Can MPLS be implemented with Cisco 1720 routers?
If not, what router would you recommend for a small secure environment?

    Thanks!
