More problems for Sony SLT cameras - A33/A55 sensosr overheating in video mode

    As if Sony didn't already have enough problems with the launch of
    their A33 and A55 "SLT" cameras ... first the "ghosting", now this:

    Engadget.com reports that video shooting with the A33 stops after only
    11 minutes! The A55 can manage only 9 minutes before the sensor
    overheats. And this is at only 20C (68 degrees F) ambient.

    Given that these cameras' claimed excellent video performance is their
    unique selling point, it is very embarrassing for Sony that they won't
    perform for longer than this with shake reduction switched on. One
    has to wonder why this was not picked up at the development stage,
    along with the ghosting problem.
