I am giving my old computer to my kids. I have about 1000 email & newsgroup
messages that I want to save as periodically I refer to them. Ideally I
would like to package all of that information into a single file and copy it
to my new computer and only peek into it when I have to.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks.

Yes, export your old messages into a file and then import the file once
    transferred to you new computer.
