Microsoft Cluster Service witch Catalyst 6500

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Jorge Paredes, Oct 27, 2004.

  1. Hi all:

I have a problem with two server configured in Microsoft Cluster Service. In
normal conditions the main server have a virtual IP associated to its real
    MAC address.

In the arp table of the MSFC appears that relation Virtual IP <> real MAC
    main server.

When the main server is down, the backup server take the virtual IP and a
new association is made with the real MAC address of backup server.

The problem is that the MSFC don´t change the arp table and appears: Virtual
IP <> real MAC main server until the arp table is refreshed.

I can solve the problem manually doing a "clear arp" in the MSFC. How can I
    do this automatically?

I have the same issue, and hae a TAC case opened now. I belive,
alothough not sure, that this began when we swiched to Native IOS from
Hybrid. We use SUP 2's and SFM and are running c6sup2_rp-DSV-M ,
    Version 12.1(22)E1 ( c6sup22-dsv-mz.121-22.E1.bin )
I will try to remember to post my results from TAC.
