Mail checker for use with Outlook 2000 when on cable internet?

    I've been on cable for a little under a week, but my mail checker
    (Multinet), that worked so well on dialup, doesn't seem to work here.
    Of course, it's geared to be used with dialup, so half the problem is
    in that wants to connect via that internet route and it can't.

    Was hoping someone knew of one that could be used with cable internet
    (and that will launch Outlook 2000, my email client, once it detects
    mail.

    I have Win98SE and would like to put this app in the startup menu so
    that whenever I switch on the computer, it'll go see what's arrived.
