    I am about to buy a 20D. I have an old EOS 620 with a Canon 28-85mm
    EF lens & a 70-200mm EF lens.

I understand that the 1.6x magnification factor will limit the wid
angle capacity of the 28-85mm to 45+mm.

Are these lens optically worth keeping?

If so, what other lens will give me wide angle capability with a great
    deal of redundancy?

    Thank you for any assistance.

Is the 28-85 lens have a max aperture angle of f/3.5-4.5? If I'm thinking of
the right lens, it is a very good lens for a zoom. The EF-S 18-55 is a good
lens for the money and gives you an equiv. 28mm on the 20D.
