Junk Control for Thunderbird News

    Does anybody know if it's possible to filter Junk messages in the
    Thunderbird Newsreader. I just want to mark a certain message as Junk so
    that future messages posted by this person will not show up in my News
    groups.

    No. Junk Mail Controls work in Mail, not news.
    However you can kill file or filter out a specific user using filters.
