Is the Initial IDM-1731 the same DVD player that's "branded" by other manufacturers?

    I've just purchased an Initial IDM-1731 which looks very similar
    to several other branded DVD players.

    I'd like to get a longer life battery than the one that comes
    from Initial. (and I'd like to stay away from those generic ones
    that are so big and ugly)

    Anyone know if the Initial IDM-1731 is the -same- DVD player
    as someone else's with a different label? That way I could get
    the bigger battery for that 'other' brand, and use it on the
    Initial.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    They look *similar* and in fact are slightly different. You are stuck with
    the battery...by the way, if you aren't getting nearly 3 hours something is
    wrong.

    Initial will sell you another battery, by the way.
