I have a wierd couple of errors going on that I think are related.

Last week I had to reboot from a freeze caused by a bad fan (heat), got
everything up and running fine. But in outlook express when I hit the
reply, compose, reply all or forward buttons or from within the email,
Outlook express starts to open the mail, the new mail outline appears
on screen and then outlook shuts down, no error message. (in addition,
all text messages are coming in blank with the text attached).

In Internet explorer, within web pages buttons dont work, and I can
enter text in boxes but hitting the enter key doesnt do anything. For
instance on the google page, the buttons dont work.

Tried that, unistalled, edited the register, reinstalled no change. It
appears that even unistalling and editing the register leaves some
remnant somewhere so that when you reinstall it, the same behavior is
there. Funny thing though, when I installed firefox all the buttons
work, and same with Mozilla thunderbird for email. I would really just
like to get it back in IE and OE.
