I have Windows 2000 with Internet Explorer 6.

Although it took awhile for the page to load, I was able to play a short movie
on the web in MP4 format. When I saved the same exact movie to a CD, I couldn't
get it to play. Windows Media Player does not recognize it, nor can I play it
    offline through Internet Explorer.

I don't think it should be necessary to download any additional software to play
this file in, as it plays just fine when running from the website. When I am
viewing this MP4 file on the web site, what program am I already using???? If I
can figure out that, I can assign that particular program to play this file and
all files of this same format.
