    why? Guest

Do you mean Start / Explore All Users / Programs?
Oh well, 73 top level (for Administrator). It would have been several
dozen more except the menu had difficulty displaying that much. Maybe
close to 140 as a lot are condensed into -

    all Tools Editors
    all Tools Security
    adm Tools Internet

Thats very unlike you Whiskers? Your reply was very margolotta'ish
to say the least. Not good, you knew what the OP meant, easy
enough not to have replied wouldn't it?

Damn, I forgot you`re a secret linux man.
I`ve got my K\Ubuntu disc all ready to go (Bill can stick Vista !)
Trouble is I`m waiting to sort my x-Fi card, and S\C\Printer.
The x-Fi drivers might arrive 2nd quarter 2007.
God, I might be dead by then <g>.

Silly of Creative to keep people waiting so long. The ALSA people could
beat them to it at that rate (I think I've heard of some geeky types
managing to get X-Fi cards to at least partially work with Linux).

    Hmmm...

Out of 15 replies, I got two answers. Not bad for this group.

Anybody else want to reply with a number? BTW we already know your Linux
    number, your SSN
and many other numbers. Only looking for the number of programs you have in
    your Start button/menu
    or whatever you call it.

    TIA

    Okay, you want a reason.
I just wanted to see how many programs the average person has on their
computer considering the size of systems (disks) today. Are people
sloppy with their disks - cluttering them up with every program they can
get, or are they neat so their system doesn't get bogged down with all
of the registry entries and other junk files. I've got about 33 programs
(use only about 20% regurlarly) and just wanted to get a reality check.
