Went on a web page last night which automatically installed the dot com
toolbar on my IE explorer and changed my homepage to something else which
had nothing to do with the site I was on. Norton actually flashed up a
warning about malicious script but the toolbar was already on top of the
    browser.

I changed the home page back to normal and you can hide the tool bar by
unchecking it's option in the right click menu in the normal way. It is only
a search bar. but I would like to get rid of the option to show it when you
right click the tool bar In IE as it has an button to search adult porno
sites which you don't want the kids getting among. Thanks.

Have you run Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy on this?

If you have, I understand that the spyware removal program "Hijack
This" will clear this off your system -- take a look at
    http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/.
