How can I snoop on data being sent from program over net

We have a custom program that 'phones home' over the Internet. When it does
it triggers Zone Alarm (I have set Zone Alarm to remember to give this app
access to the net). Although we trust the designer of the program we would
like to verify that no sensitive data is being transmitted.

Assuming that the data is not encrypted, how can I log the data going in/out
    of this app?

    TIA
