Got some praise for the SONY repair department

    I'm one of the "many" that had LCD and/or EVF problems with my 5mp
    Minolta Dimage 7Hi. Even though I was quite "late" learning about the
    factory recall for this problem, and Minolta was bought out by SONY in
    the meantime . . . They still repaired my camera . . and I might add,
    in what I would call "record time". I had heard the horror stories
    about "waiting" 6 or 7 months and (perhaps) being offered a poor
    substitute camera in exchange . . That sort of thing didn't happen to
    me.
    On September 5th I shipped my camera to the repair depot in Texas. On
    September 18th I got it back in like new condition.
    The only down side to the whole experience was that I had "almost"
    convinced my wife that I needed a D30 to replace the Minolta.
    Unfortunatly, ow that I have the thing back in working condition, a
    DSLR sin't gonna be in my bag for a while yet . . .
    Thanks to all those kind folks who helped me with this problem.
