I want to put up a few of my fave pics for others to scrutinize (or agonize
over ;-) and I'm looking for recommendations as to where to place them
    online.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Regards,

    Clockmeister.

How about alt.binaries.photos.original assuming the photos comply with
    the group FAQ?

Check with your ISP to see if they offer web space to their
    account holders.

Pbase is a good deal.. It cost a couple of bucks a
year, but you get quite a few gigs of storage
space.. One thing I like is that there are *no*
    banners, ads or popups.

I don't like the idea of a place where ANYBODY
(even an anonymous guest) can post any kind of
"comment" beneath my pictures and I wouldn't
be able to erase it. Kind of like posting your
    stuff on usenet...

I like to use ImageEvent. It's not free, but you get to store 1500
images, display them at a variety of resolutions, put albums into
    nested folders and loads more.

It's also easy to embed an album into another web site.

Pbase allows you to delete comments under your
pictures. Also, it has an option where you can
completely disable comments in your galleries.
