Gigabit Ethernet for 3640?

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Brad Cleghorn, Jul 23, 2003.

  1. Is there a module similar to the NM-1GE that will work in a 3640?

Specs for the NM-1GE say that it only works with the Cisco 2691, Cisco 3660,
Cisco 3725, and Cisco 3745 series routers. I would like to run gigabit
between my 3640 and my catalyst 3548's.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  2. Why? A 3640 runs out of steam even before 100Mbps, so I'd think a FE
link ought to be plenty fast enough.

And you could always get a pair of media converters if infrstructure is
the problem (no copper between the boxes or a distance issue).

    Regards,

    Marco.
