floppy drive just keeps on going and going and ...

    Every time I access my CD-ROM drive, my floppy drive starts grinding away.
    It seems to be getting worse and worse by the day. I've tried the so called
    registry fix, NoDriveTypeAutoRun under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\...\Policies\Explorer, but it didn't solve the problem.
    Could someone please help!
