If 2 machines on a small home network each have either Outlook or Outlook
Express and there is only one email account can the Inbox and Sent folders
on the two machines be synced so that email is downloaded to both at the
same time and placed in the Sent folder at the same time? The problem now
is that once it's downloaded off the server the other machine doesn't know
if the email has been read and/or responded to.

Leave it on the server for 1 or 16 days. Everyone will get it.

  3. The only other way than not deleting from the server is to run a local IMAP
    server on the LAN.

The freeware Pegasus Mail (OE replacement) lets you receive and store
mail in one location on a network but accessible to all.

    yes...

the cheap way is to create 2 separate accounts and make a rule to forward to
    other acct.
this is another way to spy on your kid's email...
