Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BEBE'S KIDS, CIRCLE OF IRON, CLUB
    WALKING TALL (2004):

BEBE'S KIDS (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 50/100):
"It's hard to gauge how much input Robin Harris had in this film. He
created the characters of Bebe's kids in his standup routine, and his
riffs on the exploits of LaShawn, Kahlil, and Pee-Wee were hilarious.
What works in standup doesn't necessarily work in a narrative film,
though. Remember Chris Rock's cell phone rant in Lethal Weapon 4?"

CIRCLE OF IRON (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 73/100):
"Bruce Lee fans who caught Circle of Iron at the local drive-in
expecting a night of chop-socky fun would have been distinctly
disappointed with this film, which requires an open mind and a
willingness to try something different -- qualities rarely associated
    with the action genre."

CLUB DREAD: UNRATED EDITION (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
    score 30/100):
"If the gags worked, it would matter that Club Dread isn't scary. If
the scares worked, it wouldn't matter that Club Dread isn't funny.
Remember how Beverly Hills Cop 3 couldn't decide whether it wanted to
be an action flick or a comedy and ended up being neither? Same goes
    for this crap."

DETONATOR 2: NIGHT WATCH (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 72/100):
    "Detonate this."

HEAR NO EVIL (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 50/100):
"Hang on -- I'm about to speak some evil about this inane throwaway
    of a movie."

MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (FOX RELEASE) (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 58/100):
"There may be a time in your otherwise busy life when a minutely
engaging movie like Maximum Overdrive serves its entertainment purpose
-- and people who are partial to pathetic motion pictures may actually
enjoy King's freestyle folly -- but don't expect a great deal of the
    master storyteller's talent."

SOUL PLANE: UNRATED MILE-HIGH EDITION (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 65/100):
"Soul Plane is reminiscent of air travel post 9/11 -- overlong,
overcomplicated, and overwrought. It's a real pain in the rectum that
would be funny if it weren't so aggravating."

WALKING TALL (2004) (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 60/100):
"Perhaps, Mr. Sheriff, your time would have been better spent recruiting
some gun-toting friends or calling some of the National Guard instead of
    boinking the local skank."
