Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BAD BOY BUBBY, BLUE, EXPLORING THE
DA VINCI CODE, PURGATORY, SAMMY DAVIS, JR.: ONE COOL CAT, and TREASURE
    N THA HOOD:

BAD BOY BUBBY (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 73/100):
"Rolf de Heer's rollicking festival hit Bad Boy Bubby is a balancing act
of humanism and pure vulgarity, a decidedly cult film that pushes its
'stranger in a strange land' plot to the darkest cinematic corners."

BLUE (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 45/100):
"Blue is a poor excuse for a film, and an ever poorer excuse for a
western (hopefully that'll make sense in a minute). It's badly written,
directed, and acted. The plot is another one of those 'bad man
inexplicably turns good and is eventually forced to confront his past'
deals. This film is so bad, in fact, that I'm going to refrain from
being my usual rambling self and just get this over with as quickly as
    possible."

EXPLORING THE DA VINCI CODE (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall
    score 64/100):
"Taken on its own merits however, the misnamed Exploring the Da Vinci
Code is a reasonably entertaining collection of scenery and cute
stories. Do not expect a close connection to Dan Brown's novel, and you
may have to go read a few more books before you can understand the
significance of most of the locations visited herein."

PURGATORY (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall score 66/100):
"What we have here is a case of missed opportunity. It's a fun idea,
peppered with some fair-to-good acting and production values. But script-
wise, the story just doesn't take advantage of the general idea of
    the movie."

SAMMY DAVIS, JR.: ONE COOL CAT (reviewed by George Hatch, overall
    score 49/100):
"I don't think there is much of an audience for Sammy Davis, Jr. -- One
Cool Cat. Those, like myself, who have seen and heard him perform, will
be disappointed by the lack of complete, or at least longer, musical
numbers. Younger people will surely get enough biographical information,
but they may wonder, 'Just what made him so unique?'"

TREASURE N THA HOOD (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score
    30/100):
"You know you're in trouble when former Diff'rent Strokes star and
convicted crack dealer killer Todd Bridges is the only cast member you
    recognize."
