HINT: before you view a wmv file, it's downloaded into your temporary
internet files folder. You can view/copy the file from there. That is,
    assuming you are using IE.

Can you get the URL? If you're using Firefox you can use the unplug
    plugin.

You could also use urlsnooper from donationcoder.com (begware)

If it's an http URL then it's simple to download.

If it's an rtsp or mms URL then you might need a program like
    Metaproducts.com Massdownloader, Xi-soft.com Nettransport, Streambox
    VCR, et alia

(The company went under after being sued in the last case and the
program is only available as a cracked beta. Among other things, not
only is there no one around to collect the money for the program but
there is no one around except for crackers to fix the bugs or make it
work with newer versions of rtsp/mms.)

Depends on the website, depends on the browser.
Use Firefox as a browser, and use any of the plugins which download
media from websites. UnPlug is a good one.
