desktop shortcut

    somehow the desktop icon on my taskbar has dissappeared (it was by the
    explorer and mail icons) How can I get iit back

    'JCB',

    Go to Start > Find > Files and Folders > In 'Named' type desktop > Press
    'Find Now' right click 'Show Desktop' > Send it to 'Desktop' > Drag it
    into your taskbar, manoeuvre it about until a thin black pillar shows
    and then release it. Bingo.
