DEP with Pentium 4

Discussion in 'Computer Information' started by Andrew Watiker, Nov 24, 2004.

  1. I have installed XP SP2 on our five machines (maybe I am in the minority but
I have had no problems, except the P3 is a little slow). I was playing
around with it and noticed that DEP (which I thought could only be used with
an Athlon 64) was avalible as an option under my Penitum 4 (in software
only). I enabled it on this machine and have experienced no noticable side
effects. I was wondering if people here think I should run it on the
Pentium 4 or put it back to the default "Windows serivces only" option and
should I run it on the Penitum 3 machine?

Ah, Thanks, that one went right over my head. I knew of the
existence of the feature but couldn't link the abbreviation!
