    Senior IT Systems Administrator (CISCO)

    The City and County of Denver is seeking a Senior IT Systems
    Administrator (CISCO). The qualified individual will be responsible
    for replacement, integration and implementation of the older network
    equipment within the City and County to ensure its maximum operability
    as it is implemented on to the almost completed Denver Institutional
    Area Network. Responsibilities will include: data network monitoring
    on device operation; configuration of switches, routers and hubs; IP
    assignments within the confines of the IP Master Design; restoring
    services with limited impact to on-going operations; and capacity
    planning for data connectivity for both voice and data to include the
    connection to our Internet provider. This person will be responsible
    for mentoring and training the Network Services Technicians on data
    networking, IP telephony, CISCO equipment configuration and 3Com
    networking equipment. The successful candidate must have a
    demonstrated advanced ability to integrate, troubleshoot, provide
    problem resolution, install and configure a wide range of Cisco
    products into the complex City environment to include the Cisco
    Intelligent Switching infrastructure (catalyst 6000 family and Cisco
    Avvid).

    Education Requirements: A Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science,
    Computer Information systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or
    a related field and certification in CCNE/CCNP. Experience
    Requirements: Three years of Advanced Cisco LAN/MAN/WAN
    troubleshooting, IPCC Express (CRS), net working experience with full
    knowledge of TCP/IP, access control list's (ACL), routing, sniffer
    evaluation, Switch/Router Configuration, IP Telephony, network
    programming, capacity planning and general knowledge of wiring and
    infrastructure.

    Equivalencies: A Baccalaureate Degree in an unrelated field plus 30
    semester hours of course work in Information Technology will
    substitute for the minimum education OR experience at the professional
    level providing full performance design and modification including
    revision, research and testing of computer network hardware and
    software may be substituted for the required education on the basis of
    one year of experience for one year of education; however, there is no
    equivalency for the experience requirement.
