I am trying to upgrade the memory on an XPS R400 to 512. The dell
documentation states that the max memory is 384 (128 meg memory
sticks). I have seen statements that the board is based on an intel
standard that supports 256 meg memory sticks. Can you tell me the
settings (jumpers, etc.) I need to support 2 256 meg sticks and one 128
    meg stick (Non-ECC)?

Go to www.crucial.com and see what their configurator says. There probably
are no jumpers to play with. Most motherboards stopped using jumpers to set
RAM size in like, the 1980s.
