Copy/Paste with Arcsoft Photo Impression

  1. I am about to (probably) purchase Paint Shop Pro 8. Meanwhile my Epson
printer came with simple Arcsoft Photo Impression software.

What I've been trying to do is retouch a dog's eyes which came out AWFUL; so
much so that red blended into its tan-colored fur. What seemed to work is if
I could copy/paste another eye from another photo of the dog which didn't
    have this problem.

Trouble is, I can't for the life of me get it to copy/paste right. It always
copies this eye as a "layer," and when I paste it onto the photo to be fixed
it places it in a peculiar location and then for the love of God I CANNOT
get move the eye over on top of the old one. It just stubbornly stays where
I've pasted it, determined not to be moved.

No--spray-painting its eye another color doesn't work. Every efforts comes
    out looking cartoon-ish.

    Tips?

I don't have the same software; but I am able to use a shaped brush and
"darken" the area to about a 12 and then lighten the white spot that shows
the light reflection. Does that make sense? I don't even know if you can
do it with your software; but it works for me.
