    Hello,

Is there a way to configure a router so that it asks for a username and
password in order to get access to privileged EXEC mode? In other words,
when you type enable, it asks for a username and password.

I thought something may be possible using the aaa authentication group
of commands. If it is possible, and you've got a working config which
uses this, please post the config on here.

    Thanks

    Troy

  2. Yes, you must configure AAA on the device and tell it to use the local
username/password database. Config examples are on CCO.
