Windows 98 SE, When I start up my computer everything looks OK but when I
starting using it it keeps pausing for a second or so. I've changed the
mouse for a new one that works on another pc. I've noticed that it happens
more frequently the longer the pc is on. I've also noticed that the pausing
coincides with activity on the hard disk. I tried a moving screen saver as a
test and sure enough the movement stops when the hard disk is active. The
hard disk seems to be active even when I'm not doing anything on the pc.
I've recently moved the pc. to another location, although the problem was
there before moving it it's now at the stage where the pc. is almost
unusable unless I reboot and then it's OK for 15 minutes or so. I've
reinstalled Windows and all the drivers I have but I still cant cure, I was
wondering if it was a memory problem, I have 128m of RAM. I'm happy to
format the C drive if that would help. I would be gratefull for any help.

  2. The only thing I've ever questioned was that little reading
    comprehension problem you have.
When you are finished, would you mind wiping the froth off your chin?
Perhaps they are only pretending to be going to have to do some
troubleshooting:. What is it to you?
