    I have recently purchased a used Compaq Armada 1700, with a P2 300 / Windows
XP Pro, When I go to Power Options Properties- Advanced Tab, I have the
Question "when I close the Lid of my portable computer: and a drop down
window that says "Do Nothing" I would like to set it up so that when close
the lid it shuts off the display but it is not an option in that window, how
    can I change this setting?

Also Is there a way to stop the notification for my internet connection that
tells me that my internet connection is active every time I connect? (the
little white notifier that says Internet connection is connected @ Lomb/Sec)
    Just annoying that's all.

    Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly there is a "suspend" button..

A complete reference guide can be downloaded for the 1700::
