I have a strange problem. Sometimes when I click the 'Disconnect' button on
my internet connection the screen goes blank and the PC reboots. Scandisk
runs and tells me there was an 'error', then I get a message from Win XP Pro
saying a 'serious' error was encountered, but not a lot of info really. I
use a CNR type of modem at 56KBps and a DialUp connection.
This only happens when I click the disconnect button....'not everytime
    though!
    Anyone know what's up?
    TIA.
    Geo.

Reboot and check the Windows protected files. Open a command
    prompt and type:

    sfc /scannow
