Chrome messed up?

    My Windows 2000 system seems to have messed up my Firefox
    settings somehow.
    When opening Firefox 1.5.0.1, as well as the previous version
    1.5, there is
    a message at the bottom:
    <!DOCTYPE window SYSTEM
    "chrome://prefbar/locale/prefbarOverlay.dtd">
    with a line of dashes below ending in a ^ just below the >.

    Other symptoms: the bookmarks toolbar doesn't show up, and the
    Help field is missing in the
    main toolbar.

    Suggestions?
    (I don't have a userchrome.css file in my profile.)

    After re-booting for other reasons, the toolbars now look
    normal, so that was
    probably a red herring.
