Check for new messages on 'mail.charter.net'. Failed

    inactivity. Account: 'mail.charter.net', Server: 'localhost', Protocol:
    POP3, Port: 38444, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

    Do you still have Internet capabilities?
    (I am assuming charter.net is high-speed)
    Sometimes mine does that too, and a quick click of send and receive works.

    If no Internet, try:
    Turn off your computer and then unplug your modem.
    Wait 30 - 60 seconds.
    Plug in modem and wait for connection.
    Turn computer on and try again

    Why is your server set to localhost? (Virus scanner perhaps?)
    Being a POP server it probably should be pop.charter.net

    If you disable 'Scan incoming e-mails' in your A-V, particularly Norton,
    you can probably receive mail without any problems. Your A-V will still
    be working,checking everything in the background, plus, you won't be
    opening any attachments from anyone you don't know nor trust, right?
