Cannot read dual layer dvd in external drive mac mini

    I have a Mac Mini without DL capability. Using a Toshiba / Samsung
    SH-S162 IDE dual layer burner hooked up via IDE to USB.

    Burned a DL DVD on another machine, inserted DVD in drive. OS/X says
    it's a blank DVD.

    Reads fine on my Windows machine using Transmac. (It's a DMG of my
    backup of my OS.)

    Any suggestions?
