Cannot log me on since my profile cannot be located

    Trying to log on with any non admin logon, , besides what ive used ever
    since i installed win xp pro, but i get error:

    Cannot log you on since your profile cannot be located.
    Make sure you are connected to the network.

    Something of that sort.
    This is even with the guest logon.

    Thanks for any help.

  3. Appears like you messed with a non-existent domain. Open properties -
    network identification and see if "domain" is checked instead of workgroup.
    Change that if necessary, as admin.

    I have latest updates installed on the xp pro system.
    admin logs on without problems.
    i do recall playing around with the services, disabling some, switching some
    to manual. i have reanabled all that could make an impact. any service that
    this depends on, that has to be automatic?

    works now. i went and reset it for a workgroup, even though it was on it
    already, and that seemed to do it.
