Calendar

Hi,
I have a win 98 Windows calendar that I have been using for years even
through windows 7 & I liked it its simple ui & functions
Now I have moved to Win 7 64bit & it won't work

Can anyone recommend something similar to the win98 cal that will work
with win7 64bit please

There isn't one unless the OP is using Outlook....

That may be not quite legal... and it's the Windows Vista version.
Some of the locations to download the file are quire peculiar.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer. I do remember hearing from
schools using Windows for Workgroups (3.11) that lost /their/
calendar when they upgraded - to Windows 95, I suppose -
but I wasn't in a position to do anything for them. I think
they would still have their program if Win 95 was just loaded
on top.

Microsoft Outlook /might/ be a solution.

But apparently the problem is that the Win 98 program won't run
in 64-bit Windows 7; in a 32-bit environment it's happy.
So is there a way (a reasonable way) to make it happy on 64-bit?

(AIUI, to run Windows in a "virtual machine" on Win 7, you'd need to buy
another copy /of/ Windows. But if you have one spare... you could
even run Windows 98. Well - maybe.)

Otherwise...... you might want to look for a third-party calendar
that has been on offer since at least Windows 98. Maybe they decided
to call it something like "Calendar Plus" - but that's a Mac program.

If you want only very simple functions, a program with the word
"Remind" in the name may do, such as "Efficient Reminder" or "Remind-Me".

 

There's one built into Windows Live Mail for free. The next option is to
upgrade to Windows 8 which does have a calendar program in it.

Honestly, I don't any longer remember it, so it would be more helpful if you
could list requirements, and which ones you've tried and why they don't meet
your needs. That would give us something to base a recommendation on.
