Trying to install a modem on oldish IBM thinkpad 600e but cant do it. I
think the modem is a Mwave DSP as on the last format of the drive it got
detected. This time it does nt get detected. All that is detected on booting
now is an unknown device which may or maynot be the modem. Looking at te
point setup on dev manager I have the following

    Comm Port (Comm 3)
    Printer port LPT1
    Virtual infared comm port
    Virtual infared LPT port

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm sure my brother in law wants it
back. I have had problems with modems and 98 before and seeem to remember
some advice about refreshing ports but it was a long time ago now. I have
what I think are the right drivers from the IBM site but just need the modem
    to be detected.

    Thanks

Click the unknown device and update the driver using the inf file from
    the modem driver folder.
