    Hello:

    Always something new, unfortunately.

    Any idea what

    DirectDBNotifyWnd

    is ?

Appears as an error message when closing down.

    Thanks,
    B.

DirectDB.dll is a part of OE, which deals with the dbx files (mailboxes).

Why don't you give the VERBATIM error message/s?
Also, it is NOT a good idea to multi post the same
question to other groups, it is far better to crosspost
to (no more than three) groups where the question
is relevent, and set a follow-up to one particular group.

    Hi Mike:

Really want to use the newsgroup correctly, but am a bit advanced in years
    now, and frankly don't
know how to do what you are suggesting. Perhaps, if you get a spare minute,
you might outline the steps for me.
There are two "error msg's" that come up fairly often when shutting down.
One relates, apparently, to Direct DB Notify Wnd
and the other, that I mentioned previously, to SysFader

Both go thru the same routine.

A message appears that says that the program is Not Responding, and if you
choose to end this program immediately....
Then it says it is Ending Program, and the horizontal bar shows progress in
    what I take is XP's
    doing a special closing routine.

Have no idea what either Direct DB Notify Wnd or SysFader are
It seems pretty random on closing in that sometimes one goes thru the above
    routine, sometimes the other,
and at times both. Also, at times, it may close normally.

Sure is a lot to learn.

As always, really appreciate your time and help.

    Bob
