I found my way to this forum searching for info on my PA3171U-1MPC card. I have a Toshiba 1405-S171 laptop with an empty minipci slot with two antenna leads available. I thought that I couldn't go wrong with a Toshiba branded mini pci card. I ordered it and it arrived this morning. I installed it and hooked the white lead to L1 and the black lead to L2 (aux).

Winxp home recognized it, appeared to find a driver, and popped up to tell me my new hardware was ready to go. I cannot connect to anything. No access points appear in the config window. I tried it at three different spots where there are many many access points. I tried going into "network connections" and disabling "wireless network connection 2, wireless connection unavailable, Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI..
and then enabling it. It says 'connection failed'.

I tried downloading a couple of other drivers that I found on various forums and nothing changes. I hope I haven't managed to order the one Toshiba card that this laptop happens to be incompatible with. Please tell me that there is a simple fix. Some setting that I've neglected.

Thanks so much for any info on this. Brad
