How do you find out about Microsoft prerequisites courses. Specifically I am
interested in knowing if you need to take and/ or be familiar with the 70-290
    content before taking 70-291. I have a Networking/Unix background so 70-291
appears to have a lot of familiar content.

Basically 290 is more Operating system oriented, and 291 network services
    oriented

    Hi Joe,

With the exception of Upgrade exams there is absolutely no limitation on the
order in which you take the exams. You can take 70-299 or 70-270 first and
nobody will mind. However be careful because you may see questions on 70-291
which will assume you have knowledge that was covered in 70-290.

    Good luck!
