My computer starts, gets past the bios, gets to the xp pro splashscreen for
    about a second, then reboots.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this.
    Thanks in advance.

My first guess is the Blaster virus. Unplug your modem, activate your
firewall, plug your modem back in, go to microsoft.com and get the fix,
update your antivirus software, run it, clean the computer, then reboot.
