Hi people - Fixyourwindows.com gave some really useful notes on how to
successfully install XP SP2 over SP1/SP1a. Back in Feb 2005 they gave a list
of 8 proprietory brands that were still working with Microsoft to resolve
emerging problems. I am getting plenty of business from customers who have
tried to install SP2 by download or disk whose PCs won't boot afterwards.
Pre-existing problems such as Viruses & excessive Spyware are often the
problem but some branded PCs seem only to be fixed by a full clean
re-install. I'd like to know which brands are causing the most problems out
    there. Alan A+

From my experience, no particular brands but I found pcs not using WHQL
drivers and sometimes loaded with spyware give BSODs after the SP2 install.

Thanks for the clarification of my post GoGators...

smackedass: I tend to be a little 'assuming' when it comes to those
    acronyms. Sorry to confuse you!!
