When I install WinXP service packs, it creates large backup
folders. I make Ghost backups whenever I do major installations
and changes, so I'm not concerned about being able to restore to
pre-SP conditions. But I do dislike clutter, so I deleted the
$NtServicePackUninstall$ folder, apparently without any ill
effect. I also disable hibernation and system restore.

However, after installing SP3, I noticed a large (600+MB) folder
named "ServicePackFiles" inside the Windows folder. Is this
another backup or is it something Windows uses in normal
    operation?
