I find that sometimes when I open Realplayer or WMP, or download an
audio/video file I have no audio. If I open sound in control panel it says
"No audio device" Yet checking the components in device manager the message
in each case says the device is working properly. With the system in this
state some of the default system sounds still work. I can clear the prolem
by rebooting, when it all works fine except that in control panel the "
Place volume icon in taskbar" box has been unchecked.
I have removed the sound card and used contact enhancer and even tried
moving it to a different pci slot, also tried a different sound card,
reintalled drivers etc.......still the same problem.
    Any suggestions anyone ?
    Mike.
