wireless connection drops on log on

When I start my machine and then login (maybe 30 minutes later) my
wireless connection is dropped and then reconnected 30 seconds later.

Interestingly, before the drop when I look at the status, it has been
up since the PC has been on.

How can I stop Windows from doing this so I keep the connection the PC
    originally made?

This is on Windows XP Home.
