Wireless card not recognized

Discussion in 'Wireless Networking' started by =?Utf-8?B?QW1pZQ==?=, Jan 4, 2006.

  1. I've been using a wireless card in my pcmcia slot for two years now and have
had no issues. Last week I received a fatal exception error and my laptop
shut down. Now, every time my computer goes into standby, hibernate, or I
manually shut it down/reset, the Device Manager tells me the PCI driver for
that "hardware" is not loaded. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software
to no avail. When I run a system restore to an earlier time, it then begins
working and the Device Manager shows the Netgear (wireless) adapter under the
Network Adapters. But, when it goes into hibernate, standby or I shut it down
again, and bring it back to life, it shows the driver not installed. If I
turn off the standby and hibernate modes in Control Panel and then shut my
system down, the driver will allow the wireless card to work. This isn't a
good option for me because I don't want to have to wait for my computer to
boot up every time. Plus, I leave it on for long periods of unuse and want
these features enabled. So I either have to leave those features off, or run
System Restore every time my computer resumes life.

    Any ideas?
