Wireless card disables existing adapters in W2K ?

I installed a wireless laptop card by US Robotics, and the next day
coming to work, didn't have any network adapters in W2K.

Is this a coincidence ? If not, how can I make sure the wifi card
    install preserves existing adapters ?
