WinXP File Transfer-Cannot retrieve USMT2.UNC file

Discussion in 'Microsoft Certification' started by =?Utf-8?B?Sm9obg==?=, Jan 18, 2006.

  1. I am trying to transfer files and settings using the Files and Settings
Transfer Wizard from one computer running WinXP Home to another compter using
the same operating system. I used the wizard on the source computer and saved
the USMT2.UNC file to a removable hard drive. Used the Wizard on the target
computer and received message "The location that you specified does not
contain stored info. Please type a valid folder path in the edit box." I
copied the USMT2 file to the C: drive of the target computer, but still
received the same message. My USMT2 file contains IMG0001 dat file and 1
status file. Any suggestions on how to transfer these files and settings, w/b
    greatly appreciated. Thanks.
