Windows Vista wont book after install

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by news.optusnet.com.au, May 9, 2007.

  1. Hi

I've just tried installing windows vista but after installing it and about
to run it for the first time, it gets into a "loop" as the comp keeps
resetting right after the "boot from CD/DVD press any key" message comes up
    on bootup.
It will then reset itself back to the beginning and get to the same message
    to reset itself again.

I've done a chkdsk and no problems were found and none of the options on the
vista dvd help either. I had to reinstall XP to get things to work again.

Any ideas on what is going wrong?

    Thanks
    Erik

Since it's asking to "press any key" to boot from the cd try removing
the disk and/or removing the cd from the boot sequence in the BIOS.

Microsoft.Windows.Vista.installation_setup NG is where you need to post.
